Epson EpicVision Ultra LS800 UST Laser Projector

Review: Features, Specifications, Tutorials, and More

The eagerly awaited, revamped for 2022 Epson EpiqVision Ultra LS800 ultra short throw projector is now accessible to buyers, [available in Black] and [available in White]. Boasting a sleeker low-profile design, it's an upgrade from the previous LS500 model by Epson. This new model can be positioned a mere 3.9" away for a 100" diagonal projection, mirroring the positioning of the pricier LG HU915QE, while the LS500 required a 17" distance.

Unique to this site's featured projectors, the LS500 employs the 3-chip 3LCD technology, steering clear of the single Texas Instruments DMD DLP chip, thus eliminating any risk of the "rainbow effect". Equipped with Google's Android TV OS, it comes with an integrated Google Assistant and Chromecast. With a luminosity of 4000 ANSI lumens, it's currently the brightest ultra short throw projector in the market. Additionally, its input lag is one of the shortest for UST projectors, clocking in at just 16.7ms (akin to the Optoma CinemaX D2 Smart), making it a prime choice for avid gamers. However, it's worth noting that it doesn't support 3D.

The projector can cast up to a 150″ diagonal image. For a display measuring 100″ diagonally, position the projector a mere 3.9″ away from the wall or the projection screen's surface. Ensure it's placed on a stand, cabinet, or table that can accommodate the projector's 13.4″ depth, resulting in a total distance of at least 17.3″ from the projection surface or wall. For assistance on setting up the projector, refer to this video tutorial or contact us for support.

Featuring a 20,000-hour laser lifespan, the projector also boasts an integrated Yamaha audio system, HDR and HLG compatibility, as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. It offers 3 HDMI 2.0 ports (one with ARC), an optical audio output, a 3.5mm audio output, and a USB type A port. Notably, it lacks an Ethernet port. The projector measures 27.4″ in width, 6.2″ in height, and 13.4″ in depth.
